Cordelio Power Inc. is an independent power producer that develops, owns and manages renewable power facilities across North America, and is a wholly owned subsidiary Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB). Cordelio currently manages a 1,000+ MW renewable power generation portfolio that includes (i) direct ownership of a 396 MW portfolio of wind and solar projects in Ontario, and (ii) a 656 MW portfolio investment (net interest) owned by CPPIB through a joint venture with a strategic partner. Cordelio has offices in Toronto, Vancouver and New York.

We Need You To:

As the owner’s representative, lead and manage commercial and operations issues for portfolio assets in conjunction with O&M providers., including:

  • Support executive team with overall business plans for all assets, including both P&L , O&M and capital budget for the entire portfolio of operating assets.
  • Ensure assets operate in a manner that optimizes lifecycle costs, and in accordance with all obligation and regulations
  • Provide technical guidance for Cordelio asset performance management and analytics, and provide project management support to our wind, solar and other generation operations as required
  • Develop managerial reporting for internal use and within minority ownership interests, including key performance indicators
  • Oversee:
    • generation performance management
    • ongoing asset assessments including long term capital planning, continuous process improvement, operations and maintenance including outages and projects,
    • technical input to contractual/commercial/landowner issues, regulatory, compliance, etc.
    • mitigation of asset/portfolio issues and risks to asset performance
  • Carry out engineering diligence and innovation (checking and challenging O&M and looking for opportunities for fleet improvement while working with 3rd parties)
  • Support and/or lead Contract/agreement negotiations with various counterparties, including service agreements, energy contracts, equipment supply contracts, government permits and licenses
  • Contribute to identification and management of potential threats and opportunities to the business, including but not limited to regulatory or market changes

Experience & Abilities You Bring:

  • Undergraduate degree with a focus on Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of wind & solar power operations & commercial issues
  • 5+ years working in the renewable energy industry or other related energy industry experience
  • Strong proven operations performance analysis
  • Knowledge of market structures, offtake agreements, service and maintenance agreements, production analysis, and budgeting
  • Ability to understand and interpret pro-forma, income statements, cash flow and balance sheets, variances to budget reports
  • Strong understanding of P&L’s and capital budgeting
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word & PP)
  • Familiarity with creating business cases and/or reviewing and formulating a recommendation
  • Exceptional, detail oriented analytical skills and ability to synthesize data points into trends beyond the mainstream
  • Previous experience with negotiations
  • Superior business acumen
